🌿 Ayurveda for Mothers: A Timeless Companion
From prenatal Ayurveda to Ayurvedic postpartum recovery, the session highlighted how ancient Ayurvedic wisdom offers tools for every phase of motherhood. Dr. Divya Ranj, a seasoned Nadi Vaidya, explained the role of Garbha Sanskar—spiritual and emotional nurturing during pregnancy. This practice not only helps expecting mothers stay emotionally balanced but also fosters stronger bonds with their babies.
Dr. Aparna emphasized how holistic planning and a proper Ayurvedic diet plan for pregnancy can significantly reduce the risks of postpartum depression—a growing concern among modern mothers. Her insights underlined the role of herbs, rest, and emotional support in natural pregnancy care.
🤱 Breastfeeding & Emotional Wellness
Dr. Brahmara Madhuri, pediatrician and Art of Living faculty, brought attention to the neurohormonal benefits of breastfeeding. Hormones like oxytocin and prolactin foster security and emotional grounding in both mom and baby—proving once again that a happy baby starts with a happy mom.
🧘♀️ Yoga & Mental Health in Motherhood
Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna shared practical yogic tools for expectant and new mothers, from gentle asanas to deep breathing techniques. She stressed that yoga for pregnant women not only reduces physical discomfort like back pain and swelling, but also supports emotional wellness for moms—making pregnancy and parenting more joyful and grounded.
👨👩👧 Father’s Role in Parenting and Wellness
A key takeaway from both Dr. Sharon Samuel and Dr. Spandan Katty was the vital, often overlooked, role of fathers. Beyond genetics, paternal epigenetics and emotional involvement during pregnancy contribute greatly to maternal health and child development.
🥗 Nutrition and the Masanu Masika Protocol
Dr. Madhumitha introduced the Masanu Masika, a month-wise dietary guideline followed in Ayurvedic pregnancy care. Focused on nutrient absorption and balancing doshas, this protocol ensures mothers receive optimal nourishment throughout each trimester—while addressing natural remedies for pregnancy discomfort.
The discussion also brought to light the value of Samskaras, or life-affirming rituals, in Ayurvedic parenting. These help build a child’s character and emotional resilience. Practiced with intention, Samskaras can enrich a child’s physical and spiritual development, right from the womb.
The panel beautifully emphasized that conscious parenting begins even before birth—with natural fertility tips, emotional readiness, and holistic care.
Whether it’s a mindful diet, yoga, Ayurvedic childbirth support, or emotional connection—when the mother thrives, so does the child. This is the essence of parenthood and pregnancy wellness, and the heart of Ayurveda.
